Conde Nast Traveler‘s 25th annual Readers’ Choice awards for the “Best in the World” travel destinations and hotels is hitting stands.
This morning on The Today Show, senior editor Lisa Gill told Willie Geist that the readers’ choice for the Number One hotel in the South is Louisville’s 21C.
She says, “21C Museum Hotel. It’s a great place, really lively. It’s actually a 90-room hotel, plus a contemporary art museum. It’s a converted series of former bourbon and tobacco warehouses in downtown Louisville. So it’s really fun. The rooms themselves are kind of loft like and spare. Really friendly service. But what really makes this hotel [is] its really astonishing collection of contemporary art that’s on display everywhere — in the hotel, in the restaurant, within the gallery. We’re talking really great artists like Kara Walker and Sam Taylor-Wood.”
A 21C Museum Hotel is in development for Lexington.
