Parking Ticket Amnesty?
Pay your Lexington Parking Tickets this Holiday Season with Good Food for a Good Cause
Scofflaws can get a little something extra in their stockings this Christmas. Lexington made national news this week with its holiday parking ticket amnesty program that allows Lexingtonians to pay off parking tickets with food pantry donations.
The initiative, a “Food for Fines” canned goods drive through December 19, provides LexPark with a boost of holiday goodwill and PR.
As part of the drive, parking ticket recipients can bring 10 cans of food into the LexPark office at 122 N. Broadway to pay meter citations. Customers with multiple citations may bring 10 cans for each ticket they have been issued, even those that are past due.
“It’s a great way for citizens to clear their record and help those in need at the same time. We are very excited about this opportunity to give back to our community,” said Parking Authority Executive Director Gary Means.
All donations will go to God’s Pantry Food Bank.
Expired, damaged or opened food donations will not be accepted.
Please be considerate when selecting donated items. LEXPARK reserves the right to revoke a customer’s participation in this program at any time.
