Kentucky Book Fair, Franklin Convention Center

November 5, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

The 35th Annual Kentucky Book Fair will be on Saturday, November 5 at the Frankfort Convention Center from 9 am – 4:30 pm.

“Each year more than 150 authors attend the fair, prepared to sign their latest books and to meet the patrons. The KBF orders the books and handles all of the local arrangements. The fair draws approximately 4,000 patrons from Kentucky and surrounding states, with sales of approximately $120,000. In addition to the selling of books, the informal atmosphere encourages discussion and conversation among all of those in attendance.

Net proceeds from the KBF fund grants to Kentucky school and public libraries for local book purchasing and other literacy-related causes, a total that now exceeds $375,000.

The KBF makes every attempt to invite writers of all genres, including current events, fiction, children’s books, poetry, cookbooks, mysteries and other genres. A mix of national, regional and state writers is also a goal of the event. In recent years, they celebrated the attendance of authors Sue Grafton, Rick Pitino, Christy Jordan, Eleanor Clift, Laurien Berenson, Duffy Brown, Ann Ross, Mark Kurlansky, Mary McDonough, and Kentucky treasures Bobbie Ann Mason, George Ella Lyon, Wendell Berry, Ann Gabhart, Frank X Walker, James Archambeault, Dave Shuffet, Dave Farmer, Mark Wayne Adams, Al Smith and a multitude of other wonderful and exciting authors.”
