Over 80,000 people are expected to be in downtown Lexington for four Garth Brooks concerts October 31st – November 1st. The impact on downtown Lexington will be significant and logistically challenging.
Representatives from Lexington Center along with VisitLex, Lextran and Metro Police have designed a plan that provides a safe and efficient means of managing the large crowds that will be moving in and out of Rupp Arena and downtown Lexington. In addition, information about the free downtown entertainment festival, NO FENCES, was also announced.
Details on parking and entertainment options will be available to the public online at Rupparena.com/garth and the visitlex.com website.
According to Bill Owen, Lexington Center President and CEO, “The Garth Brooks concerts are more than Rupp Arena events, they are premier Central Kentucky events that will showcase the many fine qualities of downtown Lexington and of our Commonwealth!”
