Monday, October 8th, 2012, a Fire Prevention Week Festival will be held at Lexington, Kentucky’s Cheapside Park starting at 5 pm.

The festival will include kids’ activities and the band, “Rebel Without a Cause” will be playing in the Pavilion from 5-7 p.m. and again after the parade ends at 8 p.m., and a fire dancing troupe will perform a live show.

At 6 p.m., there will be a “Run to Remember,” through four miles of downtown streets. The proceeds from the race will go to benefit the UK Children’s Hospital and the Police and Firefighter Monuments.

The 50-unit parade will start at 7:15 p.m. at Midland Avenue and roll down Main Street to Mill Street.
