Congratulations to Lexpatriate and Henry Clay High School alum Archie Borders on getting the $44,000 Kickstarter funded for his upcoming movie, Pleased to Meet Me, which begins filming in Louisville in a few weeks (starring X’s John Doe, Aimee Mann, and Loudon Wainwright).
The deadline draws nigh for Archie Borders’ latest filmmaking Kickstarter project, with X’s John Doe, Loudon Wainwright, and Aimee Mann, Pleased to Meet Me.
Lexington Native and Henry Clay alum, Borders is closing in on his Kickstarter deadline for making his new movie. They are about $20k shy of their $44k goal as we go to press.
Here’s the Invite that arrived in our Inbox, “Pleased to Meet Me would be pleased to see you! Join us for an open house on August 9 as we conclude our fundraising and celebrate the kickoff of the fantastic feature film Pleased to Meet Me. There will be drinks, food & lots of cool surprises and fun. Plus, the evening wouldn’t be complete without a little music. After all, that’s what this movie is all about! This is a crucial time for us as we round out our Kickstarter funding campaign. If we don’t reach our goal of $44,000, we get none of what we have worked so hard to raise thus far. So please spend the evening with us and support feature filmmaking in Louisville. Admission is FREE.”

He reports, “Final deadline: 8 o’clock, THIS Friday.” (August 10, 2012) “If we don’t raise all the money, we GET NOTHING. Thursday party is at the Butchertown Market. ”
The movie starts shooting, in Louisville Kentucky, August 27th through September 15th.
