Today’s Fifth Annual Lexington Pride Festival proceeded undaunted by the oppressive 100-plus temps and unoppressed by the plane towing a Bible Verse banner flying over the peaceably assembled crowds.
The King James version of 2nd Peter 2:6 reads “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly,” (“ensample” and “example” are found in many translations; no reference found to “exsample”).

Janet Cowen, who volunteered at the Kentuckians for the Commonwealth booth, said, “Seriously! Spend the money to feed the guy who asked me if I could by him a hamburger. And I did!”
Update: The Lexington Herald Leader reported later in the afternoon that “the Bluegrass Church of Christ in Scott County…spent $2200 to fly the banner,” and that a Church representative told the HL that the spelling “was based on Old English.”
