Lexington needs to preserve the best of its past and appreciate the variety that is present.
Lexington needs to acknowledge its international community from all different ethnic backgrounds, religions and geographies. Did you know that Lexington has a surprisingly diverse population for a city of its size? There is a large international community at U.K., a variety of nationalities participating in the horse industry and a strong international business community.
Lexington needs more in-depth coverage of international news so that we all learn more and understand better the communities present in the global village.
Lexington needs to preserve and build on its historic foundation laid over 200 years ago, instead of being numbed by TV and Nintendo! We need to preserve old buildings, Kentucky folk music and crafts, the horse farms and the gracious welcome for which Lexington is famous.
What Lexington does not need is more prejudice against unfamiliar cultures, racism, complacency toward its past and future, spiraling suburbia, white bread and … humidity!
