The U.S. Department of Agriculture has declared August 3 thru August 9, 2014 National Farmers Market Week.
To celebrate that locally, Lexington has multiple farmers markets that will be delighted to welcome you.
Lexington Farmers Market is open Tuesdays and Thursdays up the hill from downtown at the corner of Broadway and Maxwell until the produce sells out. It is also open Saturdays at Cheapside Pavilion, and Sundays on Southland Drive. It is open Wednesdays at University of Kentucky (at Alumni and University Drive) 3 pm to 6 pm in the summer (with free parking at Commonwealth Stadium).
Bluegrass Farmers Market is open Saturdays at 3450 Richmond Road (in the Pedal the Planet parking lot), and at Azur Restaurants at 3070 Lakecrest Circle.
