Valentines for the Socially Active: Kentuckians for the Commonwealth celebrates Valentine’s Day on the steps of Kentucky’s capitol with “I Love Mountains Day.”
The Kentucky Theatre will host a special screening of the 1954 Billy Wilder film “Sabrina” on February 14 at 8 pm. Starring Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, and William Holden, this romantic comedy classic screening is also a fundraiser for the theatre’s restoration campaign. Tickets will be $10 and all proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Kentucky Theatre’s restoration efforts.
The University of Kentucky will offer a jazzy valentine with the UK jazz ensemble and lab band at UK’s Singletary Center.
Lexington’s Project See Theatre will premiere their new production of Big Love on Valentines evening at the Downtown Arts Center. A bathtub – A helicopter – Classical music – The Italian Riviera – 50 brides fleeing 50 grooms. From the fragments of an ancient Greek tragedy, Charles L. Mee creates a Dionysian free-for-all that pits unstoppable male force against unmovable women.
Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky will host “Buffalo Love,” on Saturday February 9, a dinner and bourbon tasting menu.
