Mayor Newebberry today announced his intention to run for re-election in 2010, flying straight at the harsh beast that has already slayed two political campaigns.
Appearing on a taping for WKYT’s “Kentucky Newsmakers,” Newberry said that Lexington needs steady leadership in challenging times.
“We’ve been making a lot of progress but we have a lot more to do to get Lexington on the right track. But we’re getting there,” Newberry told WKYT anchor Bill Bryant. “I want to just be clear. I have every intention of seeking a second term as mayor because we have a lot more to do.”
