The 2015 Tweed Ride starts off at Molly Brooke’s on Saturday, March 14, 2015.

“Sport your finest tweedy attire and join us as we embark on a leisurely jaunt about the town on our bi-cycles!

A Lexington tradition and favorite bike event among many fine, upstanding citizens, this year’s Tweed Ride will meet at Molly Brookes Irish Bar starting at 3pm, where we will mingle with drink specials. At approx. 4pm, we shove off for a casual bike ride around town (usually an hour’s journey or so), with a few stops thrown in for photo-taking, etc. The ride will end at Blue Stallion Brewing Company.

Prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories, including best dressed male and female, best facial hair, fanciest steed (bike), etc.

As usual, there is also an option for those who wish to take part in the Lexington St. Patrick’s Day Parade. If you wish to join in to ride with the bike contingent, you must show up at 12:30pm on Midland Ave, near the Herald Leader parking lot. The parade starts at 1pm and usually lasts 1 to 1.5 hours. If you ride the parade, just head on over to Molly Brooke’s as we wait for the start of the Tweed Ride.”
