The Art Bar has been demolished and is in the process of being replaced with the Bear & the Butcher.

Chef Jonathan Lundy plans to open Corto Lima in January. This innovative and affordable Latin inspired restaurant will be located at the corner of West Short and North Limestone.

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market opened in Crossroads Plaza off Nicholasville and Reynolds Road.

Chef Craig de Villiers plans to open a second Graze restaurant in Lexington on South Limestone in later this month.

The Han Cook In restaurant on South Broadway closed.

Maribeth Tolson (former owner of Mia’s) will open The Madame Eatery and Juke Joint in late October at Vine and Limestone. The menu will include dinner, drinks and late-night fare, as well as brunch on Sunday.

Mirror Twin Brewing Co. hosted a grand opening event last month at National Avenue.

MOD Pizza is now open in the former spot of Calistoga off Winchester Road in Hamburg.

Sal’s Chophouse and Meats BBQ Market in Lansdowne Shoppes closed to make more room for Malone’s Banquets. The new space will open by the end of November.

 The first Nestlé Toll House Café in Kentucky opened on South Broadway and will be co-branded with Red Mango.

The Weekly Juicery, currently located at 436 Old Vine Street, has opened a second location in Palomar Centre.

EVENTS

On October 1, Build Inclusion is hosting Kentucky Epicure at Kitchen Concepts near the Fayette Mall at 7 pm. The gourmet dinner will include small plates, signature cocktails, and live music.

The Bourbon Social is October 6 through October 9 in Lexington.

As the final event of The Bourbon Social, The Buffalo Trace Distillery Brunch will take place at Buffalo Trace Distillery on October 9 at 10 am. This event features a brunch with bourbon pairings, distillery campus tour, and tastings.

The fifth annual International Eating & Reading Night at Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning on Tuesday, October 11 at 6 pm.

Food Truck Friday is on Midland Avenue October 14 at 11 am.

The Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center continues to host ‘art therapy: a luncheon series’ on the second and last Wednesdays of each month. The first is on Wednesday, October 12 and the second is on October 26 both at 11:30 am.

The Talking Turkey Tour will take place at Elmwood Stock Farm on Tuesday, October 18 at 6 pm. The tour will include a farm-food meal of small plates prepared by chef John Foster of The Sage Rabbit.
