Lexington’s Stuarto’s Olive Oil opens second location in Chevy Chase

Chef Jeremy Ashby with Sunny Side Up radio co-host Sylvia Lovely

Lexington’s Stuarto’s Olive Oil hosted a Grand Opening for their second Lexington, Kentucky location, in Chevy Chase, on Saturday April 14.

Azur’s Chef Jeremy Ashby was on hand to sample the wares and serve up Lexington Pasta dishes,  incorporating the shop’s array of infused olive oils and balsamics, available on tap.  We tried a tasty gnocchi with capers, tomatoes, and a lemon infusion.

The store’s original location opened in Hamburg in 2010. The Chevy Chase location is on Euclid Avenue, a few doors down from Graeter’s ice cream, which recently re-opened in the Lexington market. They join the fast casual chain, McAlister’s Deli, which also recently opened in the same Euclid Avenue strip.

Even at an open house/welcome to the neighborhood, they were not kidding with the sign over the plastic-domed bread chunks that reads “Please wait for assistance.” We were among the guilty naughty patrons chastised for attempting to sample without a Guide. Unfortunately, the Professional who then doled out the Official Tastes (regrettably) drizzled olive oil and balsamic and flavored salt all over one morsel of bread, so it wasn’t possible to come away with a distinct review impression of any of the three.

Store brochures include butter-to-olive-oil conversion measurements. (Lexington does not, yet, have a butter store.)
